The Opportunity
Our clients are seeking Journeyperson and Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technicians for projects across Canada. This is a full-time, project-based position with opportunities for competitive wages, overtime, and long-term career growth. If you have experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty equipment in an industrial or commercial setting, we encourage you to apply!
Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, cranes, and haul trucks.
- Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, and part replacements.
- Use diagnostic tools to assess mechanical issues and determine repair solutions.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair guides to complete work efficiently.
- Ensure all work meets safety and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Trade Certification or currently registered in an apprenticeship program.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
- Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems is an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments.
- Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 25kg and work in demanding environments.
- Willingness to travel and work in remote locations as required.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with workplace safety policies.
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage: $22.50 - $53.85 per hour (depending on experience and certification).
- Overtime Pay (1.5x) after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
- Various rotational shifts available (e.g., 14/7, 21/7, 10/4, etc.).
- Travel and accommodation assistance may be provided based on project location.
- Vacation and statutory holiday pay in accordance with applicable agreements.
Work Environment
- Industrial and construction site work requiring physical endurance and attention to safety protocols.
- Work may be performed in various weather conditions and at heights or confined spaces.
- Fast-paced, dynamic job sites requiring adaptability, teamwork, and attention to detail.
- Rotational shifts and extended work hours may be required based on project needs.
